HavINN™ | A Room for Reading (Literacy Program)
Unfortunately the literacy rate amongst children in care is below the 30th percentile - this must be changed to improve their well deserved opportunity at success. G&Co | HavINN™ creates a safe place and space for youth in care to raise their reading ability with a volunteer mentor and a quiet, peaceful, setting.
With this program we plan to work toward empowering the 941 teenage foster youth, who pass through our county, to read, write, and focus towards their higher education. G&Co has an all volunteer team to spend 1:1 time with our youth to practice the following:
Community support is the main pillar to our programs success. We are searching for compassionate volunteers with strong communication and written skills to help us change the course of youth in care.
